On March 26, 2024, at the Grand Centre of the Universitas Internasional Batam, a visit from the Confucius Institute to the Universitas Internasional Batam took place. The event was attended by Mr. Hu Haibin, the representative of the Confucius Institute, along with his team, Vice Rector III of Universitas Internasional Batam, Dr. Hepy Hefri Ariyanto, and Head of International Relation Office, Theodesia Lady Pratiwi, S.Pd., M.Hum. The purpose of this visit was to strengthen the collaboration between the Confucius Institute and the International University of Batam in promoting Chinese language and culture education. 

During the event, Mr. Hu Haibin delivered a presentation outlining the scope of activities conducted by the Confucius Institute. These activities included Chinese language teaching and related research, teacher training, development of teaching resources, and cultural and language exchange activities. Both parties engaged in fruitful discussions regarding potential collaboration opportunities, such as joint research projects, exchange programs, and cultural events. 

At the conclusion of the event, it was agreed to follow up with the discussion of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize the collaboration between the Confucius Institute and the International University of Batam. The event ended with optimism from both sides about the future collaboration to advance Chinese language and culture education within the university and the wider community.
