Meeting between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universitas Internasional Batam as An Opportunity for Cooperation between Computer Science Faculties

To enhance academic collaboration and foster international partnerships, Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) warmly welcomed students from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to its campus on 28 July 2023. The visit aimed to explore potential collaborations between esteemed institutions, particularly in Information Systems and Information Technology.

During the visit, representatives from both UIB and UTM engaged in constructive discussions, exploring areas of Belakang Padang and sharing their inovations. The meeting commenced with a cordial welcome from Ms. Theodesia the head of International Relations Office of UIB, who expressed delight in hosting the UTM students and emphasized the importance of forging strong ties between universities.

The students from UIB and UTM presented an overview of their institutions, showcasing their academic strengths, cutting-edge research projects, and notable achievements in Information Technology. The interactive session provided a deeper understanding of each institution’s capabilities, paving the way for potential collaboration.

Notably, both parties identified common research interests, which sparked enthusiasm among the attendees. The representatives eagerly delved into possible joint research projects that would leverage the expertise and resources of both institutions, fostering innovation and knowledge exchange.

The prospect of formalizing the collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was a key highlight of the discussions. The envisioned MoU would serve as a blueprint for cooperation, outlining the areas of collaboration and the responsibilities of each institution.
