University of International Batam (UIB) Successfully Hosts the 1st International Social, Engineering, and Law Festival: “Stepping Towards Being a Creative and Innovative Youth” on 14 June 2023.

The University of International Batam (UIB) proudly organized and hosted the 1st International Social, Engineering, and Law Festival with the theme “Stepping Towards Being a Creative and Innovative Youth.” The festival, held in collaboration with partner universities Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman and University of Economic and Law, aimed to bring together students from various disciplines and foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration.

The festival, held at the vibrant campus of UIB, attracted diverse participants, including social, economics, and law students from various universities. The event provided a platform for participants to highlight their talents, exchange ideas, and compete in five (5) categories.

The competition categories in the 1st International Social, Engineering, and Law Festival (i-Self Fest) included:

  1. Scientific Paper
  2. Speech Contest
  3. Food/Culinary
  4. Documentary Video
  5. Accounting Challenge

These categories were designed to engage students specializing in Accounting, Tourism, Law Science, and Education. Each category challenged the participants to demonstrate their expertise, critical thinking, and innovative approaches to addressing contemporary social, engineering, and legal issues.

The festival commenced with an opening ceremony graced by distinguished guests and university officials. The speakers emphasized the importance of creativity, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration in solving complex societal challenges.

Throughout the event, participants could present their works, engage in knowledge-sharing sessions, and receive feedback from esteemed panel judges. The judges, consisting of experts from academia and industry, evaluated the entries based on criteria such as originality, research depth, and solutions’ practicality.

In addition to the competition, the festival featured keynote speeches by notable professionals in their respective fields, interactive workshops, and networking sessions. These activities aimed to broaden participants’ perspectives, enhance their knowledge, and foster meaningful connections among young talents.

The 1st International Social, Engineering, and Law Festival was a testament to UIB’s commitment to nurturing creative and innovative young minds in various fields.
