University of International Batam (UIB) Successfully Hosts the 1st International Engineering Festival 2023: “Ideas and Creativity of Using Technology Innovatively” On 29 May 2023.
The University of International Batam (UIB) proudly organized and hosted the 1st International Engineering Festival 2023, focused on “Ideas and Creativity of Using Technology Innovatively.” The festival, held in collaboration with partner universities, namely Kanagawa Institute of Technology, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, and National Kaohsiung University, aimed to bring together engineering students from various fields and foster innovation, creativity, and collaboration.
The festival, held at the vibrant campus of UIB, witnessed an enthusiastic response from engineering students, faculty members, and industry professionals worldwide. The event aimed to provide a platform for participants to highlight their talents, exchange ideas, and compete in five (5) various categories.
The competition categories in the 1st International Engineering Festival included:
- Rendering & AutoCAD
- 3D Modelling
- AWS Jam
- Artificial Intelligence
- Mobile Application Design
These categories were specifically tailored to engage engineering students specializing in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Information Systems, and Information Technology fields. Each type challenged the participants to highlight their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and innovative use of technology.
The festival started with an opening ceremony graced by distinguished guests and university officials. The speakers highlighted the significance of embracing innovative technologies and the role of engineering students in shaping a better future through their creative solutions.
Throughout the event, participants could present their projects, engage in knowledge-sharing sessions, and receive feedback from esteemed panel judges. The judges, comprising renowned experts from academia and industry, evaluated the projects based on innovation, practicality, and potential societal impact.
In addition to the competition, the festival featured keynote speeches by industry leaders, technical workshops, and networking opportunities for participants to connect with peers and professionals in the engineering field. These activities aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge, expand their perspectives, and encourage collaboration among future engineers.
