On a sunny Wednesday afternoon, the International University of Batam welcomed May Thu Thu, a new student from Myanmar, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism. The event, held at the Grand Center on September 27, 2023, was graced by Ms. Theodesia Lady Pratiwi, Head of the International Relations Office, and the Head of the Tourism Program Study, along with faculty and staff. 

Ms. Theodesia Lady Pratiwi extended a warm welcome, emphasizing the importance of global diversity. May Thu Thu introduced herself and her aspirations, connecting with her academic mentors and peers. 

The ceremony aimed to embrace May Thu Thu, introduce her to the university community and provide insights into university life. In the coming weeks, an orientation program will familiarize her with campus and procedures.
